How to speed up Android animations ICS/JellyBean

Window Animation

The day I got my Galaxy S3 I was extremely excited, however I have to say I was initially disappointed by how sluggish Touchwiz felt when displaying the animations like swiping left and right as well as opening new Menu’s.

After a little digging around in the settings I came across three settings in the developer menu that make the experience a night and day difference. To replicate the changes do as followed :

  1. System Settings -> Developer Options.
  2. Enable the Developer options button in the top right corner.
  3. Scroll down to Drawing.
  4. Select Window animation scale, Transition animation & Animator duration scale (all separately) and change each values to .5x
  5. You’re done !

Have a play around with your device or devices after making the changes and let us know in the comments below what you think.
